Re: Blacklisted from the LMA
No, not really. I guess I can't chastise people based on the music they like, just because I don't like it.
But WOW!!! It's been over a year and a half since I've visited this thread, and I'm still shocked and disgusted by the fascist hater trolls who replied to my original letter.
However, it really doesn't phase me one bit. Since writing the "blacklisted" letter, a lot has changed in my life. The most marked event being that I was finally diagnosed with Schizophrenia (which would partially explain the delusions and voices that told me to remove my music from the LMA).
I guess it really doesn't matter that the people I knew in America (including my own family) treated me like shit and kicked me when I was down. And guess what? You were kicking somebody with a disability! Fucking fascists... Take a good look in the mirror, you robotic bastards.
It's all too clear now what horrible, nasty, non-compassionate people I was surrounded by. Fake smilers and selfish capitalists let me wallow in homelessness for three years without offering me a hand back up. I'm so thankful that chances led me to Australia where I've since received treatment for my illness, and my life is now back on track.
I've also decided to stop playing music in order to spend more time on treating my illness. So Andy Warstar & the Warstars is over now. If I ever do play music again, it will be under a new moniker with an entirely new sound, and with new bandmates.
And if I do play music again, I will be sure to garner support from the good people I've encountered in the mental health community. It's a crying shame that so many decent people face a horrible stigma just because they have mental health issues. Many feel they have to keep it all a secret or they'll be discriminated against. Well, damned if you do and damned if you don't, right?
It's also a terrible shame that so many people in America have mental illness but never seek treatment due to the stigma. Many of these people eventually end up on the street like I did, where people continue to judge them and hate them, calling them 'homeless people' and 'bums'. In a more compassionate society (like Australia) that just doesn't happen as much, and everybody has a place and can contribute. Everyone has worth, and people care for each other here.
So yeah, now I'm just out with it. I have an illness and I hope it goes away eventually. I also hope the Nazi hater trolls go away too (may they all be put in a space capsule and set the controls for the heart of the Sun). But alas, the world is not so intelligent or kind. We will always have to deal with people who have no love or compassion in their hearts.
Yeah, anyways, that's all I came back here to say on this thread. Thanks to all my fans for listening over these past 15 years. It was a lot of fun. Enjoy & Rock On!!!!
